The iSpyPen is not a dedicated storage device. iSpyPens does not warrant the completeness or safety of created files. Please back-up the important files onto your computer or other storage device.

D. Instructions: How Do I Charge My iSpyPen? 

Charge your iSpyPen for 2 hours when it arrives.

In order to charge your iSpyPen, first unscrew the top from the bottom. Once unscrewed, you will see a charging port. Plug the included USB charger into the charging port and plug the other end into your computer.

E. Instructions: How Do I Install My MicroSD Card? 

Unscrew the top of your iSpyPen from the bottom. Once unscrewed, you will see a charging port. Next to it is the slot to install the microSD card. Ensure the face of your microSD card is facing upwards and that the clip of the pen is face down.

Note: If the indicator light flashes red 5 times when you turn your pen on, this means the SD Card is either missing or not installed properly. Please be sure NOT to push the memory card in too far.

F. Instructions: How Do I Turn On My iSpyPen? 

To turn on the pen, press and hold the button at the top of the pen for 2 seconds until the indicator light on the side of the pen illuminates green.

G. Instructions: How Do I Turn Off My iSpyPen? 

To turn off your iSpyPen, press and hold the button at the top of the pen for 4 seconds until the indicator light flashes green three times followed by one red flash.

H. Instructions: How Do I Take A Photo On My iSpyPen?

In order to take a photo with your iSpyPen, first turn on the pen (see section F). To take a photo, simply press and release the control button one time, for approximately one second. Ensure that the green indicator light flashes on and off one time. It’s that easy. Your photo has been saved to the memory card.

I. Instructions: How Do I Take A Video On My iSpyPen? 

In order to take a video with your iSpyPen, first turn on the pen (see section F). To take a video, hold the control button for exactly 3 seconds. The indicator light on the side of the pen will flash green three times. There will be no indicator light visible while the pen records. When you are done recording, simply press the top button for one second, until the green indicator light flashes one time. Your video has been saved to the memory card.

Note: When taking a video, if the three green flashes are immediately followed by a red flash, this means you have accidentally powered the pen off. Try taking a video again - this time ensuring you do not press the button for more than 3 seconds! (:

J. Instructions: How Do I Use My iSpyPen On A Mac?

To view saved photos or videos on your computer, unscrew the top of the pen from the bottom. Plug the USB into the port on the pen, and connect the other end to the USB port on your computer.

Once the device is connected, click on Finder. Select the device that was just plugged into your computer. Here you will find the photos and videos that were recorded on your device. Videos will open in the Quicktime Player application. You may need the VLC Video Conversion Application, which can be downloaded here.

K. Instructions: How Do I Use My iSpyPen On A PC?

To view saved photos or videos on your computer, unscrew the top of the pen from the bottom. Plug the USB into the port on the pen, and connect the other end to the USB port on your computer.

Once the device is connected, click on File Explorer. Select the drive that was just plugged into your computer. Here you will find the photos and videos that were recorded on your device. Make sure to open all videos with Windows Media Player. Windows Media Player can be downloaded here.

L. Instructions: How Do I Change The Date & Time? 

In order to change the date and time, plug in your SD card to your computer. Open the "time.txt" file from the SD card and enter the updated date and time.

Sample format: year-month-day hours:minutes:seconds. For example, “2012-8-14 06:32:03

M. Instructions: How Do I Use My iSpyPen As A Ballpoint Pen? 

In order to use the traditional ballpoint "Pen" functionality of the iSpyPen, you must turn the metal tip clockwise to protract the tip, and counter-clockwise to retract the tip. In order to access the charging port and MicroSD Card slot, simply unscrew the top of the pen from the bottom of the pen. Please note: trying to pull apart the pen may cause damage.
